Why IFSC Code is Critical

RBI routing computers use the IFSC code exclusively to identify the destination bank and clearing branch. If an incorrect IFSC is entered for a valid account number, the transaction may route to the wrong branch or bounce back within 2-4 working hours.

Failed Transaction Auto-Reversal

Under RBI Harmonisation of TAT (Turn Around Time) guidelines, if an NEFT/RTGS transaction fails due to IFSC mismatch or invalid account state, the remitting bank must auto-credit the funds back to your account within T + 1 banking day.
